This institution was established in the year 1996 by our Founder Chairman, (Late) Dr.A.Shanmugasundaram, a noble Philanthropist and Educationist of extraordinary vision in the field of education who is the founder of Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation – Deemed to be University. In 2003, Vinayaka Mission’s Medical College and Hospital received permanent recognition from the Medical Council of India (MCI), Ministry of Health, Government of India. It was also renewed in the year 2010.
Vinayaka Mission’s Medical college & Hospital, Karaikal has 590 bedded hospitals. The hospital is fully equipped with state-of-art diagnostic and therapeutic departments to facilitate treatment of an extensive range of diseases. The hospital also provides special health care schemes like Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme (CMCHIS), ESI facilities. The entire campus of Vinayaka Missions Medical College spread over an area of over 70 acres and offers all the facilities, to the students and the faculty, that are encouraging for learning consisting of adequate museums, laboratory , air – conditioner library, air-conditioned skill labs , Wi – fi facilities , online library access, e – learning resources , 24 x 7 emergency care facilities with laboratory and imaging facilities ,students counseling, periodic parent – teacher meetings and research facilities , Gymnasiums at hostels and sports grounds. During its inception it was one of the first medical colleges in rural India established not only as an educational institution but also as a sterling healthcare provider for the rural population of South India.
